You’ll be able to choose between two different types of beaches. One offers excitement with water sports, luxury hotels, sun bathing, swimming, the works! The other type of beach is the deserted beach with gorgeous glistening sand and clear blue water where you can take a break from the cares of life and get swept away by the scenery. One day you might want to join the busy
beach scene with some friends. The next day you can relax and meditate to the peaceful sounds of the ocean.
You can enjoy either experience during your stay.

Bahamas Basics Jan 22

The Bahamian Islands, or the Bahamas, are a group of 700 islands, cays, and rocks located 50 miles off the coast of Florida. The tropical climate of the Bahamas makes it a favorite year round destination for sun lovers and those simply looking to escape the ice and snow at home. Though it can get surprisingly cold, the average temperate in the summer is in the mid 80’s, while the average temperature in the winter is in the mid 70’s.

When most travelers talk about going to the Bahamas they are usually referring to the capital city of the Bahamas, Nassau, located on New Providence Island, or they are referring to Freeport/Lucaya located on the Island of Grand Bahama. These are the two most popular destinations for tourists in the Bahamas. Nassau, located on New Providence Island, is a destination rich in history and Caribbean culture. The highlights in Nassau include the Bahamas Historical Society Museum, Casinos, and nightclubs, as well as a multitude of restaurants and hotels for every preference and budget. The second most popular tourist destination is Freeport/Lucaya located on the Island of Grand Bahama. Freeport/Lucaya is a thoroughly modern, planned city. Here tourists will find pristine white sand beaches, first class hotels, a casino, nightlife, and scuba diving and water sports galore.

Some travelers may choose to visit what are known as the “Out Islands”; these consist of 14 inhabited islands, each with its own flair. The “Out Islands” include: The Abacos, Acklins/Crooked Island, Andros, The Berry Islands, Bimini, Cat Island, Eleuthera/Harbour Island, The Exumas, Inagua, Long Island, Mayaguana, and San Salvador. While these islands are off the beaten path, they each have their own unique activities, and lively Bahamian culture. Some have hotels or other accommodations, as well.
